A manual therapist is a physical therapist who has completed a three-year master’s degree in manual therapy after completing his regular physical therapy training. The manual therapist specializes in the functioning of joints of the spine and other joints of the body. Manual therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on making joints more mobile again.
A more flexible joint can be a prerequisite for pain-free movement in sport, work or daily life. The intervention that the manual therapist performs consists of a manipulation or quiet mobilizations of joints whereby often a directly noticeable effect is experienced. You immediately feel an improvement in mobility and a reduction of pain in the affected joint.
At our practice we offer both forms of manual therapy. Together with you we look at which form of therapy suits you best.
